By the way, many of those scriptures that you quoted (e.g. Isaiah) are directed at those of us in the latter days who SUPPOSE THAT WE KNOW, and thus close ourselves off to the further light and truth that the Lord wants to bestow upon us. We modern Mormons, in particular, have received the lesser portion of the word, and because of our lack of faith, we have not yet received the greater portion of the word that the Lord is eager to reveal.

Of course there's nothing inherently good in secular doubt. But blind or naïve trust in falsehoods doesn't help much either. Thus we should OVERCOME whatever doubts we might have concerning JESUS CHRIST and His Gospel, while cultivating a healthy skepticism toward that which requires healthy skepticism.

There is a key distinction that must be made, or else the "faith" that you describe is just as bad, or worse than the "doubt" that you describe.

True faith must be CENTERED IN and FOCUSED on our Savior Jesus Christ and His Gospel. True faith is inseparably connected to TRUTH. If we have TRUE FAITH, we believe in things which are not seen, WHICH ARE TRUE. FAITH and TRUTH go hand in hand.

Furthermore, true faith in Christ REQUIRES real inquiry, thorough investigation, and relentless questioning, until we arrive at the TRUTH... and even then, there will be more truth to discover, which requires more FAITH, and more INQUIRY.

Jesus frequently commended people for their FAITH IN HIM, not in the arm of flesh or anything else, AND He frequently admonished and invited us to ask, seek, and knock.
